smart lpg provides LPGA approved conversions using the Prins VSI lpg fuel system

Our LPG conversions are undertaken by Prins Alternatech, the UK’s exclusive distributor of the internationally respected Prins VSI fuel system, offering motorists quality assurance with OEM (original engine manufacturers) standards.  All Prins Alternatech’s technical installers are accredited by the LPG Association, part of the company’s commitment to quality and safety.

The smart car LPG conversion comprises an underbody kit, which means that in the new model smart, there is no loss of interior space.  The process involves removing the existing petrol tank, replacing it with a 27litre LPG tank, and a custom built 18litre petrol one.   The LPG tank is able to cope with extreme temperatures and can sustain far greater impact, than either a petrol or diesel fuel tank. 

A process that takes just 5 working days, smart lpg provides LPG conversions for existing smart car owners.  We are able to convert any smart fortwo or forfour, however the models which qualify for Congestion Charge exemption are the fortwo models (with the exception of the 598cc), manufactured since 2003, and the forfour 1.1litre.
